Early September, Gwyllion and Ann have decided to part ways. There are absolutely no hard feelings between the band and Ann, and we really want to thank her for the friendship and for lending us her voice for the past months.
There have already been several contacts with other singers, but due to a terrible stroke of bad luck, all of these options fell through and at the moment, we are still searching for the perfect front woman for Gwyllion.

Good news for who ever wanted to play one of Gwyllion’s songs but does not own an instrument: our song ’Closure’ is now featured on the online PC version of Guitar Hero called Jam Legend (click here to play)! The song ’The Night Awakes’ will follow a bit later! Have fun!

Very bad news today. Due to problems with the German booker - which were communicated to us only 2 days before the start of the first show - both Autumn and Gwyllion were forced to cancel the shows in Germany. This is through no fault of the bands - we even tried to book the venues independently to still be able to play some shows there - but it seems there is no possibility whatsoever to salvage the wreckage and to give you guys the shows you deserve. None of these shows will be played.

As you can imagine, this is devastating news for us - both on a personal and a financial level (we were really looking forward to our first tour with Autumn and we had already booked all equipment and transportation, which we now have to cancel and pay cancellation fees). We do however want to stretch that this problem has in no way been caused by Autumn or their management, who proved to be great guys and who are actually doing a lot more for us than they should. A warm heartfelt thank you to those guys, and we cannot wait to play a few shows with them in the future!

We have already received several messages from disappointed German fans who are asking if the rumors are true, we can only apologise to you guys and thank you for your support. We promise we will return to Germany and make up for the shows we have lost for now! Thanks for your support and see you on the road!

Both albums have now been released in Japan, and Rubicon Music was kind enough to send us a few copies of the Japanese edition of the albums. The bonus track on ’Awakening the Dream’ is a live version of the song ’Once upon a Lifetime’, and the bonus track on ’The Edge of All I Know’ is a live version of ’Lost in a Dream’. Next month, Gwyllion will be on tour with Autumn - one of Holland’s finest female fronted metal bands - in support of their latest album ’Altitude’ and our latest album ’The Edge of All I Know’! Needless to say we are very excited to hit the road with these extremely talented musicians! Check the Tourdates for more information.

For the second week in a row, Gwyllion was featured in ’Whiplash’ on Studio Brussel yesterday, with the song ’Entwined’ from the new album. Various other songs have also been played on several radio shows in The Netherlands, Germany and the US! Meanwhile, some more reviews have been added to the Press section, check them out!

Today marks the long anticipated release date of our new album, ’The Edge of All I Know’! Along with the album, all of the new merchandise is now available as well. Check out the Discography and Merchandise pages, where you can order the new items online!

The release date is drawing closer! This Friday, the new Gwyllion album will be unleashed in Belgium. We’ll do everything we can to make sure everyone who pre-ordered the album will receive it that same day - hopefully the Post strike will not affect this! We will also throw a small listening party at Café Den Deugniet that same evening (around 22h30), where the album will be played from start to finish while we’re enjoying a few beers. A few members of the band will be present so you’ll also be able to buy the new stuff directly from them! See you there!

We will do a release show at JH Tap (Kuurne) the 21st of March, together with our label mates The Claymore and Infinite Horizon! The entrance fee is dirt cheap, and we’ll throw in a free barrel of beer to celebrate our new release, so there is absolutely no reason for you not to show up! Welcome to the new Gwyllion website! This will be our home for the next few years. As you can see, we have found a new lead singer: Ann Van Rooy has joined Gwyllion’s ranks and she’s ready to kick some serious butt!
Since we’re back on track again, we can also finally announce the release dates for our new album, ’The Edge of All I Know’. It will be released on the 6th of March in Belgium, and on the 3rd of April in the rest of Europe! You can check out the new album at the Band > Discography page, and the new merchandise, that will be available on the same date, at the Band > Merchandise page. The pre-order links will be active soon!
We are also planning a release show shortly after the release date, so keep your eyes on this page for further updates!

As some of you may have heard already, Annelore has decided to quit the band. Gwyllion is planning their first tour this year, but Annelore felt she could not leave everything behind for two weeks to go on tour through Europe. Several options were considered, like touring with an interim singer, but in the end Annelore decided to quit all together.
Of course this is a major blow for Gwyllion, as Annelore has been both a major part of our sound for the last few years and on our two albums, and a very close friend, but we respect Annelore’s decision and wish her all the best in her future life.
Gwyllion is now actively searching for a new lead singer. Anyone interested in this position can contact the band at info@gwyllion.com.
The CD release will go on as planned, so expect more news about this soon!

Finally we can announce the label deals we’ve been working on for the last few months! We know it took a while, there were several proposals - even from some major players - and we wanted to examine each deal thoroughly before deciding what the best course for Gwyllion would be. We’re very happy to announce that ’The Edge of All I Know’ will be released by Black Bards Entertainment (Germany) in Europe, and Rubicon Music in Japan! Rubicon Music will also release our first album, ’Awakening the Dream’, in Japan. More news about release dates to follow soon!

It’s been a while since the last update, but there’s some great news: Thomas is proud to announce the birth of his first son! Mathis Halsberghe was born on the 23rd of October, at 14h10, weighing 3.8 kg and measuring 52.5 cm. Mother and child are doing great! Congrats Thomas!

The new album is now finished, and thanks to the efforts of Jens Bogren at Fascination Street it sounds nothing less than amazing! A short sound sample will follow soon, so keep your eyes on this site. Meanwhile, we are also confirmed to play at the Female Voices Fest Warmup at the Biebob in Vosselaar, together with some other great female-fronted bands and opening for Haggard. We’ll make sure to play a few new songs so be sure to come and check us out!

We’re currently mixing the new album together with Jens Bogren, who we now believe to be the greatest genius of our time. Check the MySpace Blog to see the full studio report, which is updated every night with tales of our achievements and lots of pictures!

So, tomorrow the day is finally there, we’re leaving for Sweden! Everything has been recorded now, from the first hit on the bass drum to the last backing vocal, and we can already tell you that even now it sounds promising as hell! Now it’s up to the great Jens Bogren to produce this album, while constantly being bothered by reckless sounds as ’More toms!’ and ’Everything needs to be louder!’ of course! We’ll give you an update pretty soon so keep checking the site!

Finally a long-expected update to the site! The pics from the open-air gig in Zwevegem have been uploaded at the regular location. There will be no gigs until September, because we are working very hard on the new album! We are currently recording the last vocal lines, and in July we will be heading into Sweden, where producer Jens Bogren (Pain of Salvation, Opeth, Katatonia,...) will mix & master the album at Fascination Street Studios. The album will be called ’The Edge of All I Know’ and will contain over 50 minutes of new material, featuring tracks like Entwined, Void and Rage (which we already performed live), along with 6 other full songs and some extras! The album art will be handled by Monument Studios, so you can expect something very special! More news to follow soon!

’Trinity’, the opening track of the ’Awakening the Dream’ album, will be featured on the ’Sirens 2’ compilation of Female Vocal Music Superstore Sonic Cathedral, which will be released in one of the coming months. The compilation will contain two CDs featuring some of the greatest bands in the Female-Fronted Metal genre so we’re proud to be a part of it! Click here to see the full tracklisting.

May all your dreams come true and other generic New Year wishes! 2008 should be a good year for us: several labels have expressed their interest in Gwyllion, and the second album should be released in the fall of this year! In other news, the Biebob gig with Soulsteeler has been moved to another venue because of a schedule conflict at Biebob. This gig will now take place at JK Kasterlee on the same date. In any case, it will be a fun night! Stay tuned for some more news in the coming weeks!

It has been confirmed: Gwyllion will support After Forever on the 2nd of October in the great Belgian metalclub Biebob. After Forever is touring to support their new album ’After Forever’, and Gwyllion is proud to be able to share the stage with them! See you all there & then!

Finally, the pictures from the Opblaaspop gig have been posted. Sorry for the delay, but all work and no play makes Wouter go crazy! Thanks to everyone who attended and a very special thanks to Bassie, Alexander and the Opblaaspop crew, it was a great gig!
